the Rooster's Partners

Our biggest supporters and others who know us well

Equator Coffees & Teas: Brooke McDonnell and Helen Russell have been tireless in their donations, advice, and guidance. We thank these women who believe in our work and cherish them deeply.

Inter-American Bank of Development - collaborates with Singing Rooster by providing funding and guidance for our work in the Marigot coffee sector.

Solidarité-Haïti - a Canadian-based nonprofit collaborates with Singing Rooster by helping to establish coffee seedling nurseries and other economic development activities that support the Marigot community.

SERRV - retail giant & one of the first fair trade initiatives worldwide, SERRV began offering the Rooster's Haitian coffee in 2011. We couldn't be more thankful.

CRS - Catholic Relief Services collaborates with Singing Rooster to redevelop coffee in the Beaumont region. We discuss issues, share resources, and help farmers make long-term connections.

The French organization, InterAide, has been an invaluable partner with the Rooster & coffee farmers in the Artibonite area.

Noulacoop - a Canadian based organization works side by side with the Rooster to help build solidarity among farmers.

Root Capital - is a nonprofit social investment fund that grows rural prosperity in poor, environmentally vulnerable places by lending capital. They also work with the Rooster to deliver financial training to select farmer co-ops, and they help to create market connections for coffee farmers.

The has raised over $28,000 in 3 years just by selling Singing Rooster's coffee. We've helped other nonprofits to raise thousands for their own work in Haiti -- $150,000 & counting.

Colorado Haiti Project - a non-profit founded in 1989 to extend aid to the poorest of the poor in a rural area called Petit Trou de Nippes, about 80 miles west of Port-au-Prince.

Help the Aged - Canadian-based agency dedicated to improving the quality of life of the elderly poor, supporting their independence and inclusion, and providing services and programs to relieve distress, poverty and sickness.

We're partnering with St. Charles Borromeo Church in Arlington VA to provide preharvest financing to a farmer cooperative near Les Cayes. The Rooster's growing popularity prevents us from pre-financing all groups. St. Charles Borromeo stepped in because they've been working with 5 sister communities near Les Cayes for years.

BJ Transport of Afton Minnesota was instrumental in moving our coffee from Florida to Wisconsin quickly and for awesome prices. Thanks for storing the beans while our facility was in preparation.

Singing Rooster - a certified 501 (c)3 nonprofit and established social enterprise offers a direct buyer relationship & on-the ground assistance to coffee farming communities in Haiti for the sake of self-sustainability, dignity & economic autonomy. We meet then EXCEED principles of fair trade.

We alleviate rural poverty in Haiti with economic development through coffee agriculture. We partner with farmer-owned coffee cooperatives to provide farmers direct access to markets. We help cultivate and process high quality, gourmet Haitian coffee. Then we buy/export tons of green Haitian coffee beans and create new markets for it: roasted coffee, green coffee beans for home or commercial roasters, fundraising with coffee, and wholesale coffee to commercial roasters, cafes, and stores.

By helping farmers to improve crops, paying premium prices for those crops and then transforming and marketing those crops on behalf of farmers, we've created a farmer-to-table model for rural communities. We return 100% of proceeds of coffee sales back to farmers and their communities for continued economic development and to provide partial funding for our interrelated support.
